Experienced in Skin Cancer and Aesthetic Medicine

Dr Thilan Walgamage has lived and worked in many different countries, including Canada, Oman, Sri Lanka and Pakistan, before calling Australia home. He discovered his passion for surgery while he was a medical student; and realised the lack of specialised surgeons as his father waited to undergo heart surgery.

Dr Walgamage has gained his expertise in the advanced treatment of skin cancers through extensive training and working for more than a decade in General, Plastic and Cardiothoracic Surgery. His areas of expertise are skin cancer checks and specialised surgical treatment including advanced skin flaps, skin grafts and reconstructive surgeries of the nose, ears and eyelids. He also performs advanced cosmetic procedures and injectables, such as anti-wrinkle treatments and dermal fillers.

Dr Walgamage is highly respected within the medical profession and he has published and presented his research at many international conferences. He is in close liaison with dermatologists, plastic surgeons, and oncologists so that he can provide the best possible care to his patients.

Dr Walgamage is a lecturer at the Australian National University, as well as a medical educator and supervisor for General Practitioner Registrars.
